Trisha.Mileham (at) valpo.eduProfessor Mileham joined the Valparaiso University faculty in 1998, earning promotion to Associate Professor in 2004 followed by tenure in 2005. As Director of Public Services, she manages Library Instruction, Reference, and Access Services, and the Writing Center. She also works in library web site management and collection development. In addition, she is the library liaison to the College of Nursing, Christ College, Valpo Core, and the Psychology department. She has taught in the Valpo Core program.
Areas of research interest include library instruction; professional and staff development; mentoring; and library experiences of students transitioning to academic campuses.
Professor Mileham recently published the chapter, "Finding Sources of Evidence" in the nursing text Evidence-Based Practice for Nurses (2009). She has also published in Collection Management, LOEX National Conference Proceedings, and SIGUCCS’s ’03: National Conference Proceedings. Her work with VU IT personnel resulted in a first place SIGGUCS Award for the 2006-07 VU Guide to Resources "Comfortable with Technology," an annual collaboration between Library Services and IT staff. She has presented and done poster sessions at ACRL National, LOEX National Conferences, and the Indiana Libraries State Conference. Currently, she is serving on the ACRL 2009 Conference Poster Sessions Subcommittee. Additionally, she was a selected participant in the first ACRL Institute for Information Literacy, “Immersion ’99,” July 1999.
